Marisol is a 31′ Tiara Open Sportfisher. Built in 2006, she is powered
by twin Volvo Penta D4 Diesel engines. We have all the latest in
electronics including Simrad Fish finder, Radar, GPS, dual VHF radios,
EPIRB and Sirius radio. We have all the Coast Guard recommended equipment on board. Safety is something we take very serious. We have a
tuna tower with dual controls so we don’t miss those breaking fish.

We specialize in saltwater offshore fishing with up to 6 passengers. Marisol is a 31’ Tiara Open sportfisher powered by twin Volvo Penta D4 diesel engines. Our cruising Speed is 24 knots. Our beam(width)of the boat is 13’ which allows for more fishing room. When you're considering sportfishing in San Diego, comfort should always be considered. Marisol has a fully enclosed helm that not only keeps you warm and dry, but it keeps you out of the sun. It can get quite hot out there. Sunscreen is a must.

The start of our trip we will pick you and your friends up at the dock. Hot coffee and pastries
can be purchased at the local market. Once onboard we will go over a safety check with all
of the passengers before we start our deep sea fishing San Diego adventure. Your captain
will go over the fishing options and we will decide as a group what type of fish to target.
Lucky for us sportfishing in San diego offers so many varieties of game fish that their could
be different catches throughout the day. We will then go to the bait receiver located just a few
minutes from our pickup spot and load the bait tanks with sardines or anchovies. We do use
live bait when fishing offshore. We then will get the engines up to speed, talk stories and run
to wherever the fish are. There are different ways we go about catching; Trolling, live bait or
Jigs. The fish are like people. Sometimes what was great to eat yesterday isn’t so great today.
If one technique doesn’t work, we will switch to another. The night before our trip your captain
Will be looking at temperature charts, NOAA weather and other key factors that definitely
affect the fishing day. When we get to the area we are targeting, everyone will be looking for
breaking fish, birds and kelp paddies. All of these are key to locating biting fish.
Once we start catching, we have a bag with over 125 lbs of ice to ensure your catch is as
fresh as can be.The fish will be properly handled, iced and brought to the dock at the end of our trip. When we get ashore, you will have the option to bring your fish back whole or to have
It processed. Sportfishing in San Diego is a very busy industry so sometimes the processor can take 2 days to complete. They will take your catch, filet it and vacuum seal in dinner size
portions so you can bring it open and store it for future dinners. Sushi grade is also available.
For the traveling angler. Your catch can be packed on ice and shipped back home. These

Hi, I’m Captain Ron from Marisol Sportfishing your #1 choice for Deep Sea Fishing in San Diego; I’ve been sportfishing in San Diego since 1991. I still remember my first trip ever. A good friend of mine was an avid fisherman. I had no clue. I couldn’t even tie a knot. Somehow on October 30th, he talked me into a 1 ½ trip on the Apollo out of Fisherman’s Landing. There was only 14 people on the boat and it was rough and whitecaps. I had my ski jacket, a pair of Vans and a hat. I didn’t know how cold it was going to be. I remember I borrowed my friend Senator 113 which he called a knuckle breaker. I soon figured out what that meant. We had 4 stops on that trip. Each one was for a few hours at a time on wide open yellowfin and big eye tuna all between 30 to 60 lbs. That was it. I’m hooked! Fast forward, 6 boats later and I am a captain of a 6 pack deep sea fishing San Diego.
ABSOLUTE BLAST!!! Best private charter we’ve been on! Captain Ron took us to his honey hole and landed us on limits of Red Snapper. Top notch clean boat and equipment. I went with my buddy and my 15 year old son. Captain Ron was super patient with us and is an amazing captain and person to be around, would highly recommended!!!
Had a great day's fishing with capt Ron! We took the trip down to Mexican waters, had a couple of tuna strikes then caught a bunch of mahi-mahi. Capt Ron is quite the fisherman, and we all thoroughly enjoyed spending the day with him. Will we go again? Absolutely, he knows his stuff and has excellent boat handling skills, and also knows where to have your fish prepped and packed for shipping as soon as you get off the boat.
I've been out twice now with Captain Ron on the Marisol, and both times were everything you hope for and more on a fishing trip. We caught yellowtail, yellowfin, and dorado. I can't wait for our next trip out!
Had a fantastic day with Captain Ron on the Marisol! I've never been fishing before, so I had no idea what I was doing. When I did get a fish on the line Captain Ron was there to coach me and help me reel in my first blue fin tuna. So much fun and would definitely recommend a day of fishing with Captain Ron!
Recently decided to go on a fishing trip here in San Diego and down into Mexico water. Captain Ron was very helpful from the start with getting the international day license to sharing what to pack for trip essentials. We arrived at the marina early, loaded the boat and within short time we were FISH ON! Best trip! Captain Ron was excellent. Highly recommended!
